The Mosaic Woman: Honoring the Sacred in All Our Parts

Before The Mosaic House ever existed as a physical space, it began as something simpler—and perhaps more powerful: a circle.

It was pre-COVID, back when I ran the HERA Wellness Center, a little space with soft lighting and strong women. We called our group Women 2 Women—and every week, we gathered.

Some were mothers. Some were widows. Some were just trying to survive another day. But we came together, not to fix each other, but to witness.

And something happened in that room.

Women from every walk of life began to share their stories—and even though the details were different, there was always a common thread.

We had all been told we were too much.
Too loud. Too emotional. Too ambitious. Too soft. Too angry. Too complicated.
And yet, in that space, we were finally allowed to be all of it.

I’ve carried that circle with me.

And now, as this work continues to grow, I find myself returning to that image of womanhood—not as something pristine or perfect, but as something mosaic.

We are the Mosaic Women.

Messy and brilliant.
Strong and sensitive.
Laughing in one breath, crying in the next.

We run businesses, make dinner, break generational patterns, speak truth, carry grief, nurture communities, burn sage, and write poetry we never show anyone.

We wear our stories like threadbare robes and sacred tattoos.

We are not broken—we are assembled.

And yes, the world hasn’t always been kind to us.
We’ve been taken, used, diminished, erased.
But still—we rise.
We rebuild.
We remember.

This space—The Mosaic House—is for us.

For the women who have had to be everything:
The backbone. The caregiver. The dreamer. The fighter. The survivor. The builder.

This journal is just one place for our stories to land.

Share Your Story

I believe every woman holds a piece of the larger story—one that, when shared, helps us remember who we are. That’s why this space isn’t just for my words—it’s for yours, too.

Have you walked through something that left you changed?
Do you carry a truth that’s been waiting for a place to be honored?

I invite you to submit your story and be part of the Mosaic.

Whether it’s a letter, a poem, a reflection, or simply a moment that changed you—we welcome it.
Submissions can be shared anonymously or with your name. Every piece is honored.
