The Story Beneath the Silence
There’s a story we all carry—the one we don’t speak out loud.
It sits in our chest, pressed beneath the things we were told not to feel.
It hums under the noise of survival, waiting to be heard.
Sometimes, it’s just a flicker:
A memory. A whisper. A grief that never fully left.
Sometimes, it’s a scream turned inward.
As a counselor, a storyteller, and someone who grew up learning to read between the lines, I’ve come to believe that healing starts when we listen for what hasn’t been said.
That’s the story beneath the silence.
It’s not always dramatic. Sometimes it’s subtle:
A look. A moment. A name we stopped calling ourselves.
But it’s there.
And when we give it language—when we write it, speak it, or create space for it—it no longer controls us.
It becomes part of us, instead of something that quietly unravels us.
In my work, whether I’m guiding someone through recovery, helping a child reclaim their “I Am,” or writing a story meant to stir something ancient and whole, I return to one truth:
The stories we silence shape us.
But the stories we tell—consciously, courageously—heal us.
This journal is a space for reflections, practices, and stories—offered as invitations to return to that sacred place where silence becomes voice, and voice becomes power.
